JFK pickup guide for groups

JFK is a multi-terminal international hub with very different pickup logistics depending on your airline. A clear plan keeps your group moving—and avoids the “where’s the driver?” loop that bigger airports invite.

Terminal-by-terminal basics

JFK has Terminals 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8 active for commercial flights (with ongoing redevelopment). Each terminal has its own designated commercial pickup zone. We confirm based on your airline.

Pickup zone vs meet-and-greet

Pickup zone: driver waits curbside in the commercial passenger pickup area. Faster but requires a quick walkout.

Meet-and-greet: driver parks short-term, meets your group at baggage claim with a placard, and helps with luggage. Better for international arrivals and large groups.

Customs and timing

International arrivals add 45–90 minutes to clearance time. We track inbound flights and adjust pickup so the driver isn’t paying for short-term parking unnecessarily and you aren’t standing on the curb.

Frequently asked

Can the driver pick up at multiple terminals if my group arrives split?
Yes—we can either consolidate at one terminal (you AirTrain to meet) or do staged pickups across terminals. The first option is usually faster for groups with luggage.
